Australian or ‘Aussie’ Shepherds are known for their fluffy, colorfully spotted coats and high-energy personalities. This medium-sized breed is one of our favorites, and for a good reason. They have a primarily white coat, topped with varying patterns of spots in all different colors. Their pointed ears fold forward, very adorably we may add, over their face. Their most notable feature though is their eyes. Aussie Shepherds are known for having bright blue or brown eyes. They have lots of energy and lots of love to give. Poodles: What You Need to Know

Poodles are a very classic breed. We have all heard and seen poodles - most likely you have seen them winning dog shows and being shown off, but how much do we really know about them. Besides their fluffy coats and their popular mix breed cousins (Labradoodle and Goldendoodle!). Poodles come from a European background and were originally hunting dogs, specifically for water and bird hunting. This breed has become extremely popular in the past decade due to this new phase of cross breeding. Because of poodles' natural hypoallergenic coats, it became extremely popular to carry this trait to other breeds and dog types. But we’re not talking about these cross breeds, we’re focusing on the Poodle! Poodles are ranked as the second most intelligent dog breed, they are quick learners, very patient and sharp. They have a fun and bubbly personality and are great dogs around kids and families. They are always ready to play and be social. It is no surprise they have been a classic staple for many decades.

Beagles: What You Need to Know

Beagles are known for being energetic, bubbly, active and overall a very happy dog breed. Beagles have a reputation for being a really great family dog because of these characteristics and it makes them super popular across the US. They are a medium to small breed with cute floppy ears and a multicolored coat! A common trait of beagles is they love to talk. And when we say talk, we mean bark, howl and even ‘yodel’ of sort. Many people love this trait to beagles as it can be entertaining and fun and it is their way of communicating! But, it is good to be aware that this breed will make noise and if that does not match your current lifestyle, then you will have to make adjustments. Beagles, like other smaller breeds, will have lots of energy! Make sure you are taking them on daily walks and doing lots of indoor play time and helping them get their energy out and staying healthy. Beagles were naturally bred to be hunting dogs, it is in their DNA to have a lot of activity and energy and they need to be properly exercised to maintain good behavior. Beagles are an amazing, fun and low maintenance breed. With an affectionate and bubbly personality, your whole family will love this addition and you can’t go wrong adding a beagle to your life!

English Bulldogs: What You Need to Know

English Bulldogs are known for being thick, solid, stocky, and friendly little (not so little) dogs. Their wrinkled face and broad build make them very recognizable and you can’t help but love them! English Bulldogs are truly like no other and make great companions. They have an easygoing and friendly personality and while you usually see them enjoying a nap, don’t let that fool you! These dogs love a brisk walk and to play outside. English Bulldogs make a great family pet because they are very people oriented. They are sweet, friendly, gentle, playful and are great nappers! Because of their short snout, you will always hear when an English Bulldog is in the room because of their labored breathing (and probably snoring). These 50 pounds Bulldogs are a powerhouse that don’t require a lot. They make great apartment dogs and will be more low endurance than other breeds. Because of their stocky body and short snout, they don’t do well in warm climates and can overheat easily, so your A/C will be their best friend in the summer. We love English Bulldogs, and if you are looking to make an addition to your family, they are a great choice.

Golden Retrievers: What You Need to Know

Golden Retrievers may be one of the most popular breeds in America. We all know this beautiful breed and we probably all have seen several Goldens in our life. Their luscious, golden blonde hair and friendly, loving personalities have a hold on families all across the U.S and for good reason! These picture-perfect, famous breeds are as good as they seem and are one of our favorite breeds. Golden Retrievers are a medium to large breed with long, golden hair. They will weigh around 65 to 75 pounds and stand about 24 inches tall! They have a VERY friendly personality and will most likely want to befriend every human and dog they encounter. Their tails truly never stop wagging and their mouths are turned up in a smile. They are a smart breed and with proper training, can be very disciplined and in line, but at their core - they are overly happy and their puppy energy will last longer than typical (which isn’t as fun as it sounds). You will want to make sure you start puppy training right away, because their energy can be a lot. Overall, Goldens are known for being family dogs and man's best friend. You can’t go wrong with choosing to make your dog a Golden Retriever.

French Bulldogs: What You Need to Know

French Bulldogs are a very popular breed - and for good reason! French Bulldogs, also known as Frenchies, are adorable miniature bulldogs with large pointy ears and short legs (and a cute wrinkled face that everyone loves). Yup, little French Bulldogs make great watch dogs and there is not much that will get past them. In addition, they are very sociable and personable - making them great companion dogs. Typically, they will get along with other dogs and people very easily! You also don’t have to worry about them being too crazy, they are fairly quiet and low energy dogs. While every dog needs everyday movement, you won’t need to go on crazy long walks to get your French Bulldog properly worn out. Anyone would be a good fit for a French Bulldog, but you will typically see them paired with someone who lives in a city! Their small size and minimum exercise requirements make them fit well into a city residence and you will see them strutting through the city with ease.
